TheHistoryFreek initiative is aimed at creating a general awareness on the importance of knowing our History and value for our Heritage in the Sri Lankan society.

Its objective is to create a discourse on the awareness of one’s heritage amoung the young generations using social media as a platform.

We are the present and the future of this society, and our mindset and perspectives of our past help shape the future through our actions at present. Society progresses. But a society unaware of its origin is hollow and lacks meaning. Let us therefore understand our past rationally and impartially in order to create a more just and peaceful society for the present and future.

Chryshane Mendis is an Independent Researcher and an aspiring future Archaeologist. He has researched extensively on the history and archaeology of the Colombo Fort and has since lectured and published locally and internationally on his findings.
He is an Old Boy of St. Joseph's College Colombo 10 of the Batch of 2013.
